The Rosa Health Center's Groundbreaking Ceremony

Sep 24, 2024

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the Rosa Health Center hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction kick-off for a new addition and renovation of their health center in Georgetown, Delaware. Local officials, community leaders, and supporters gathered to celebrate the expansion of the new health center that will enhance access to essential healthcare services for the underserved and uninsured residents of Georgetown and its surrounding areas.

The Rosa Health Center's current facility has only two exam rooms to try to serve a panel of approximately 2,000 patients annually. However, with the rising demand for health care in the area, the expansion is expected to increase the center's capacity and reach.

The new health center will include eight private exam rooms, a vitals room, nurse station, providers office, a new laboratory room, and a waiting room. Additionally, the center will feature a new conference room, designed to host health education classes, empowering patients to take a proactive approach to their wellness.

"The construction project will turn a dream into reality: expanded exam space to be able to help more in the community and educational space- the cornerstone of prevention and better health."

The mission of The Rosa Health Center is to enhance the community and improve individual lives by providing quality primary health care to patients, with a focus on the underserved, and with compassion, dignity, and an emphasis on education and preventive health. The expansion of the health center will provide more space to see the growing population in Georgetown.
